Saint Patrick
Saint Patrick
Patron of: Ireland
Feast Day: March 17
Born: 387
Died 461
Saint Patrick was born in Britain. When he was a teenager, pirates took him from his homeland to Ireland and made him tend sheep.
The people of Ireland at the time were not believers in Jesus. He remained in Ireland until he was around 20 when he had a vision from God telling him to leave Ireland. He immediately escaped and studied to be a priest and eventually became a bishop.
He returned to Ireland in 433 to spread the Gospel to the people. His teachings led many to God. One of his more famous teachings involved the Shamrock. He taught the people that the Trinity is like a shamrock – three in one.
