Day 4: Mary is Thankful
“From this day all generations will call me blessed.”
When Mary went to visit Elizabeth to help her, Elizabeth met Mary with excitement. She already knew about Mary because an angel had told her so.
During that conversation, Mary proclaimed the Magnificat. She knew all the problems she might run into being the mother of Jesus, but she was thankful to God. She gave him praise and thanksgiving. She also shows great trust in Him.
In our daily lives, it can be hard to take a minute to remember to thank God for all that He has given us. There’s often so much going on around us. But, if we look for them, there are opportunities throughout the day to thank Him. Some examples of these opportunities are:
- In the morning for another day
- At meal times for our food
- Moments in the day when things went well for you
- Before bed for His protection and blessings throughout the day
Prayer: Mary, teach me to be thankful.
