The Transfiguration of Jesus

Based on Lk 9:28b-36

Jesus took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray.
While he was praying, his face looked different and his clothes became dazzling white.

Then, two men, Moses and Elijah, were speaking with Jesus. They spoke of Jesus’ exodus that was about to happen in Jerusalem.
Peter and the apostles were asleep, but they awoke and saw Jesus in his dazzling clothes speaking with Moses and Elijah. Just as the men were about to leave, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

While he was still speaking, a cloud cast a shadow over the three apostles, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud.
A voice boomed from the cloud, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.”
After the voice had spoken, Jesus was alone. Moses and Elijah had gone.

Instantly, Peter, James, and John fell silent and did not tell anyone what they had seen.
