Jesus Heals the Blind Man

Jesus and His disciples were travelling to the city of Jericho.  On the way, a large crowd started to follow him. At the same time, a poor blind man sat on the side of the road. The man heard the crowd say that Jesus of Nazareth was there.  Upon hearing this news, the man called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!”

The people around the man warned him that he should stay quiet. However, he did not give up.

Mark 10:47

He believed Jesus would hear him and help him. So, instead of remaining quiet, he called out even louder, “Son of David, have pity on me!” He continued to do this until Jesus stopped. He told his disciples to call the blind man over to them.

They walked over to him and said, “Take courage. Get up, Jesus is calling you.”

Immediately, the man tossed aside his cloak and ran over to Jesus.

Jesus asked, “What do you want me to do for you?”

The blind man said, “Master, I want to see.”

Jesus then said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has saved you.” As soon as Jesus said those words, the man received his sight and he followed Jesus.
